Classes
Foil and epee fencing programs for kids and adults
To start fencing at Northwest Fencing Center, check out our Intro Sessions below. All new fencers must complete an Intro Session before registering for a weekly class.
Classes are split by Competition Age Groups, so athletes practice with others at their age and skill level. To find the right program, continue reading individual class information.
NWFC Membership is not required to start but is mandatory to enroll in any fencing class longer than 4-weeks. Please read class details for individual requirements.
Once a fencer has completed an Intro Session they graduate to the next level. Each class has a Star Chart with the required skills for the fencer to move on to the next level.

Youth Classes
Ages 7-12
Intro Sessions are designed for athletes with no fencing experience so they can learn the basics of footwork and fencing vocabulary. These small, coach-guided sessions help our new fencers jump right in at their first group class.
After fencers complete an Intro Session they are able to join the Youth Class for their age category. Then, students get to build new tactics with other athletes of their age and skill level.
Youth classes are available for fencers as young as 7 once they have completed a 4-week Intro Session. Each class has a different Study Guide and Star Chart, which the athlete must complete and have approved by a coach to graduate to the next class. Stars are earned when the fencer gains a new skill or achievement.
Membership is required to register for all Youth Classes. Excludes 4-week Introductory Classes. All monthly classes auto-bill.
