Northwest Fencing Center
Oregon’s premier location for epee and foil fencing
Northwest Fencing Center (NWFC) is a non-profit fencing training facility specializing in foil and epee. Since 1972, we have provided people of all ages with affordable fencing classes, camps, and private lessons.
NWFC began as a group of dedicated fencing athletes and quickly grew to become a pioneer of fencing in Oregon. Today, we continue to grow and are known as an international training and competition hub.
In 2022, we moved to our new facility in Tigard, Oregon, designed and built just for us. With 21 strips, a cushioned flooring system, and all-new gear, we can’t wait to see where this step takes us next.
Our Coaches and Administrative Staff are dedicated to providing a supportive, inspiring, and fun atmosphere. Our goal is to foster a love of the sport and the growth of the athlete, both on the strip and off.
At NWFC, we are a community of friends, colleagues, and athletes. We are committed to providing the best possible instruction for you or your athlete in an encouraging, yet challenging environment.
Together, we can grow the sport of fencing. Donate today to give an athlete the opportunity to join our community.

While watching the 2012 Olympics, Callan McLoudrey first saw fencing and was instantly hooked and knew epee was his weapon! That fall, he started in a Park District class and, by December of that year, had joined a local club – Metro Chicago Fencing. In the Fall of 2013, he committed to commuting from the suburbs to downtown Chicago to be a member at Windy City Fencing.
Diego Brown grew up in Bend, Oregon where he joined the High Desert Fencing Club when he was 11 years old. In 2019 his family moved to Portland and Diego joined Northwest Fencing Center in 2021. He plans to continue fencing epee after he graduates from Westview High School.
