Fundraiser for Coach Patricio Moreno

Sep 17, 2026 | Updates

Hi everyone,

I’d love to personally invite you to BOUTS & BOTTLES: An Epee Night on Saturday, September 26, 2026!

I’m getting ready to represent our fencing community at the 2026 Veteran World Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia, and thanks to the incredibly generous support of Rose & Arrow Estate and Aubaine & Lytle-Barnett, we thought it would be fun to turn their generous wine donations into a fundraiser- and, of course, a night of fencing!

So, we’re bringing the two together.

WINE AUCTION: BIDDING OPENS AT 4:00 PM
EPEE COMPETITION STARTS AT 5:00 PM

We’ll have a selection of generously donated bottles available throughout the evening, and you’ll have the opportunity to bid on individual bottles and wine packages during the auction. The bidding will begin at 4:00 PM and continue throughout the event.

The fencing event is open to everyone 21+ and will feature:

  • 21+ Mixed Épée
  • Veteran Mixed Épée
  • Mixed pools to 5 touches
  • Separate DE brackets to 10 touches
  • Medals and wine prizes for the top three in each category
  • Wine auction throughout the evening
  • Unsanctioned event
  • Self-refereeing
  • No registration fee

We’ll start fencing together in mixed pools, then separate into the two categories for the DE rounds.

But more than anything, I hope this feels like a night for our fencing community. If you want to fence foil or saber, bring a friend, and come do some open bouting with us too! You don’t have to compete in the épée event to join us.

Whether you want to compete, support my journey to Tbilisi, bid on a bottle of wine, do some bouting, or simply come hang out and cheer from the side of the strip, I’d love to see you there.

Let’s fence together, laugh together, and celebrate together.

Come to fence. Stay for the wine.
Fence together. Celebrate together.

I’m incredibly grateful to Felipe Ramirez from Rose & Arrow Estate, Isabelle Meunier from Aubaine & Lytle-Barnett, and everyone at NWFC who has jumped in to help make this happen.

And please remind your friends: bidding starts at 4:00 PM, and the fencing competition starts at 5:00 PM!

I hope to see you all on September 26!

Best,

Patricio
