How to sign up for private lessons

Private lessons are by appointment only, and must be made online. Lessons are for NWFC Membership only, if you have any questions please contact the front desk by email or calling 503-277-2237.

Lessons with Fencing Master: $50 per half hour.
Lessons with Coaches: $40 per half an hour.

Book Your Private Lesson

This will bring you to our online lesson scheduler. If you don’t have an account, register an account and one of our managers will approve your account, once membership status has been confirmed.

Lessons must be cancelled by midnight the night prior to the lesson or the lesson will be charged to the account.

If a fencer has a permanent lesson slot and the fencer fails to cancel by midnight the night before for a missed lesson, twice in a one month period, the permanent lesson slot will be forfeited.

There are many aspects to our online lesson scheduler to help our fencers to manage their schedule.

Once you log in to your account access the settings menu.

Once you have accessed the setting menu it will look like this:

From here you can see your contact information. Please keep this current as NWFC uses this to contact our fencers that have lessons.

Fencers can also reset their password from here.

There are 2 important settings though that can greatly help out.

Many calendar applications, such as Microsoft Outlook and Apple iCalendar, allow you to subscribe to an online calendar published in the iCal file format. Enter the links on this page into your calendar application.

Under notifications there are a lot of options.

Notification settings Northwest Fencing Center

You can play around with the notification setting as to how you will receive reminders, schedule, and daily summaries.

There is one setting under notifications though title “Availability” that can be quite useful. Think of it as a waiting list for lesson slots that might become available. If there are no available lessons during a time that you would like, you can select to receive a notification if one does open up. This does not automatically sign you up for a slot, lessons are still on a first-come, first-serve basis. However you can log in and schedule in the now open lesson slot.

Fencers can select availability by coach, time, day, or within a certain timeframe out.

The next section under the “Settings” menu that is important is the Notifications Edit page. Here you can EDIT and ADD where your notifications are sent. You can select to add addition email addresses. This is especially helpful to make sure all family members are aware of scheduled lessons. Phone numbers can even be added, so that you can get SMS notifications.
